Okay folks it is back to our regularly scheduled program, at least for now. Happy hump day to all my readers. Have you read Gone Girl? This book is of the same genre. You might want to check  it out. LOL.

This is a current novel released in June 2013. I received an advance readers copy for an honest review from GoodReads. Hey another real paperback book!! If you haven’t heard of it you have probably been under a rock the last few months. This has been compared to Gone Girl. I will not be comparing it here. I only want to say that I think that had this come out first it would have been a big, fast sell like Gone Girl, but sadly it was released after so it will always get second billing I think.

The Silent Wife is about Todd and Jodi and a marriage that lacks any serious form of commitment. She finds that as a common law wife she has no rights to his property and money when he leaves her for his pregnant girlfriend. The girlfriend by the way is like 20 years younger than he is. Is Jodi going to lose everything? What is she going to do? She and her friend, Alison decide to put a hit out on him. Todd is shot while driving in his car, but the police say that Dean, Todd’s future father-in-law and friend ordered the hit? Surprise!

This is a strange and twisted story of two rotten people. One who got what he deserved and another that got away. I didn’t like any of the characters in this story. Jodi sounds lazy, Natasha is Todd’s whiny young girlfriend and Todd sounds like a jerk. That being said, I did like the book and read it in only a couple of days. It was compelling. I give this book 5/5 stars.

A.S.A. Harrison sadly died in April 2013 before the release of her novel due to ovarian cancer. Please remember that October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
